Mohican State Park

OMBC Series Race #2
The Mohican 50 is a self-supported mountain bike race winding through the rugged trails of Mohican Memorial Forest. Riders will tackle steep climbs, technical features, and fast, flowing descents in a challenging course that serves as a perfect precursor to the Mohican MTB 100. Water and Hammer Nutrition are provided at the halfway point for Sport and Expert racers only.

Start Times
E-Bike and Pro/Expert Men will start at noon, with all other divisions beginning two minutes apart. All racers should be ready to start by noon.

- All racers must purchase a timing anklet ($6 one-time seasonal fee).
- Enter anklet number during online registration.
- MTB racers: $5 refundable plate fee if needed.
Course Information
Trails
Mohican State Park features some of the best singletrack in Ohio. Racers will encounter steep, long climbs, technical features like rocks and roots, and thrilling descents throughout the Mohican Memorial Forest. Te trail is maintained by the Mohican-Malabar Bike Club (MMBC).
Directions & Parking
Follow posted signs off State Route 3. Do not park in the campground unless camping — vehicles without camping permits may be asked to move. No parking along the road; violations are strictly enforced.
NOTE: Mohican MTB 100 directional signs will be placed at road crossings and along trail sections as needed.
Park Warning (Racers & Course Marshals)
Racers must yield to traffic at all park road crossings.
Volunteers and course marshals may not stop vehicles under any circumstances (Mohican State Park rule).
Aid Station Information
- Know Your Limits: This is a self-supported race.
- Aid: Water and Hammer Heed will be available at Trailhead Two (about the halfway point) for Sport and Expert MTB classes.
- No Aid: MTB Novice class racers will have no water stations and must carry their own hydration.
Race Rules & Conduct
- Racers may finish riding, pushing, or carrying a mechanically impaired bike, provided all laps are completed and no course shortcuts occur.
- No bike parts, including wheel sets, may be accepted from non-registered racers along the course. Any off-course detours (e.g., for repairs) must rejoin at the exact point left. All parts must remain near the start/finish or parking areas. Violations may lead to disqualification.
- Racers must ride courteously, allowing faster riders to pass when space permits.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in a DNF.
- Falsifying registration information will result in a DNF.
- Race or rider protests must be filed with a race official within 20 minutes of finishing.
- Sport and Novice division winners must move to a higher class the following season.
